Happy Anniversary Dennis!

Yesterday was 12 years and you know we sit here thinking what to do tonight. Our friend Lisa (who is insane by the way) is taking our kids overnight! And we get to go out for our anniversary. But what to do?

It is hard to imagine it has been 12 years. I know a great many people thought we would not make it this far. There were times I wondered how we made it. At 21 and 22 we were so young and and just knew we could do it. But I wonder if at that age if we really knew what it was about? I would not change a think but man we thought we could handle anything. Now at 33 and 34 I know we can we have a 12 years base. We have held each other up through more things. But could we have handle any storm then? I don't know. But I would not have wanted to try with anyone else!

Dennis you have held my hand, cooked me breakfast, stunk up my house, and painted my toes. You have been the best of Dad's and you love your children more then life itself. And you love me and put up with me. Just because we will most likely spend our nigth without kids playing the wii and hanging out at home in quiet does not make me love you any less!

But whatever we do tonight I know that this time next year I will be thinking of what to do once more. As we mark another year. And that my dear is what makes me love you the most. That the kids and I know you will be there standing next to us no matter what.

You know we wrote a poem at our engaged encounter and though it was wrote through eyes of having no clue, it still is true today.

Watch Over Us

As I stand besides you I pray
for each day to blossom as full as this day
May the love we share
carry us through the days we never plan to have
The unity candle we will light together
will glimmer with light
It will also cast shadows,
just as some of our days to follow are sure to have.
May the love reflected in our eyes cast away the shadows,
and allow God's streaming light to sine in our hearts forever.
Today we stand before God, family, and friends
to proclaim a lasting love
You are my friend and will come before all others
I am not saying day after day will be rainbows and sunshine
We cna not have rainbows without some showers
May God bless our love and strengthen our love
each day to come from this day forward
Amen

I love you Dennis! And i look forward to another 50 years with you!

Saturday madness

yep thst is what I would cal it. We got up early had Stephen's last soccer game of the season. We brought the boys who spent the night with and Lisa picked them up there. Then when Stephen was done they came home and we went back a short hour later to bring Samantha's snack to her game. (That we skipped because she is in Iowa!)

Then we decided well lets go to Rogers days! And went to the parade OMG way too much candy involved! And now we are headed to a grad party for our baby sitter Emily. And then who knows what the day will bring!

Tomorrow we have 2 soccer games for Matthew and we bowl at 6pm and in there Dennis and I plan to at least say Happy day to each other.

To Stephen

wow Buddy 11 years today! I can not believe it is your birthday. Why I don't know. Matthew's being 2 days ago gives me time to remember but it seems like yesterday all the bedrest, the trips to the hospital, being so afraid you would come too early. Being a first time Mom being so very afraid of what it all meant. And being 2000 miles from my own Mom. And not having a clue what labor was going to really be like.

Little did I know I would neve be like most Mom's. My OB came in the hospital room Thur during the day as I had told the nurses to leave and never come back till Daddy came. And she said she would give me food if I was nice. So I was nice all day and she got me some chicken at 11pm. Thinking back now not the best plan.
She also let me get out of bed for a 5 minute shower and a walk to the end of the hall. Also thinking back I should have just stayed in bed and kept you in a bit longer.
But at 2:30 the next morning contractions started and there was no looking back anymore. You were coming. The doctor said she would come check me at noon. Well little man she had to come back as you were not into a slow delivery. And though I never had a contraction closer then 20 minutes apart you still made your grand entrance at 12:20pm. With me sleeping between pushes the whole time. You were so very small buddy.

I look back at you and wonder how you could be that small! Since you are so big now! I remember when Matthew was born thinking you were so big already. Seeing you in pictures then at 6 you were so tiny! I think I had forgot to take you day by day and you just have gotten so big on me now! It amazes me how much you change each year.

As the oldest you get screwed in a lot of ways. Why? Because sorry to say it your Mommy has no clue what she is doing most days. Really I am shocked that those doctors let us take you home with us! And they did! And told us we were doing a fine job! Little did they know we had no clue!

So your Dad and I fumble through we try our best and hope one day you do not look at us and say you sucked at this raising kids Mom and Dad. But no matter we love you buddy even if we are messing up we love you.

The pictures are the first I have of you on the computer. I will have to scan some in to get you smaller. But I will later today to compare then and now. Happy Birthday Stephen! May your day bring you much happiness and I hope no big storms because with 20 people coming to our house for yours and Matthew's party and you having all those boys sleeping here a tent sounds very good to your Mother!

And really we have 1000 water baloons and I am hoping beyond hope they are not getting tossed in our house but outside!

Love you!

Soccer

I am always amazed at what kids do to make time pass. Matthew in one shot is seeing if he has sugar in his belly button while he waits to go back in the game. Mini makes Dennis do push ups on the sidelines. Me I take pictures. It is what I do. And though I do not understand the game much at all. The equipment fasinates me.

Matthew's last reg season game

Last night was his last reg season game. he has 2 game Sunday for a tournament and then his soccer season is done for the year! His team won by too many to count last night and Mattew did the best he has done. he got in there and kicked up a storm and he moved the ball which was good to see!

The soccer duck

Maria sent all 4 a soccer duck! They are cute and the 3 I have here at home with me love them! Well Mini and Matthew the most. Stephen put his up. Mini and Matthew are planning a bath tub playdate wit theirs this morning already!

Matthew's pictures

Here are a few more of his pictures. I am surprised this camera takes such clear pictures but it does. Not that I would blow them up but Matthew is loving it. It is neat to see life threw his eyes as he takes photos!

Matthew gift from Maria and Kevin

He says a great big thank you to you guys as he is in love with his camera!! The first three pictures I took of course but the last 2 he took. The first of his is his very first shot, me taking his picture. The second one was later of Mini playing taking a picture! But this gift has made Stephen want a camera along with Mini. So Stephen wil be taking his birthday money and buying a digital camera. They love taking pictures and I love that I can delete some and it not be a big deal!

a slow start to a day

We had a slow start yesterday. Everyone slept in and even when Mini got up it was to go to a chair and cuddle in. It is nice to have days that we can just get moving slow rather then having to get up and start at a run. As the day never goes as well then.

Happy 5 Years Matthew!

How is it that a little boy named Matthew can go from this little bitty thing to a such a little boy in such a short time?! I remember being 34 weeks pregnant and they said he would come anyday. And he waited 4 more weeks. They said he was only 3 lbs at 34 weeks but he proved them wrong by hanging out 4 more weeks and made 7 lbs! My little miricle boy! And now he could go to school in the fall. We plan to hold him back one more year though and he will go to preschool one more year.

He had a soccer game tonight and he had a good time. I will post in the morning of his gift. Maria he loves it and now Mini of course would like it too. So the surprise of his gift will be on here tomorrow look for it

Happy Birthday my sweet boy! May you continue to be a wonderful boy and may you stay healthy and sweet! I love you! You were worth all 60 minutes of labor!!

a cuddle bug

I think he must be a cuddle bug as he hugged Austin when we went shopping on Monday. He was all cuddled up to Tia's Dad Terry on Monday night. And today he turns 5 years old. At this time 5 years ago I had no clue I would have a baby boy by night fall. That my plans for an anniversary dinner would be put off because instead of sitting down for dinner I would be delivering my son. Who came out with blonde hair and blue eyes and white as could be. Nothing like his older brother and sister who came out tan and black hair with dark eyes. Dennis told the nurse he was the fed-ex mans and the poor lady had no clue what to say. But I had my blonde haired boy! I did not care it had been our standing joke that if he came out blonde it had to be the fed-ex mans as Dennis did not give out blonde babies!

It is strange as 11 years ago at this very moment I was waking up thinking I pee'd the bed but it was my water breaking with Stephen. We thougt we would have him. But it was a 2 day wait. And that 6 years later I had Matthew on that day has changed the whole day for me.
My birth with both were so differnet. And after being there for days with Stephen hoping not to deliver I never looked at the 25th with happy thoughts. Now it is filled with the best deliver I had! Granted he almost did not make it to the hospital. Sad considering I did not know I was in labor. And I got to hold him right away.

So today is about my Matthew and we will hang out doing what he wants to do today. And later we will have dinner and hang out with Daddy and the kids. And open 1 gift, from Maria. And then you will see what a 5 year old can do!

Happy Birthday Matthew! I will post more later as I hear him coming down the stairs for some love!

A trip to town

Yea so Sat night we went to Mom and Dad's farm to spend the night after the zoo. Well then I had the bright idea to go to Shorty's for 1 beer. Well we went up there and we had more then one but we played the wii bowling, we met friends, and then we played darts. Now I am not going to say cheating is good but dang it Nancy and I needed help when we played darts and the second game we could not open if our life depended on it. And we cheated and still lost! But we had a lot fo fun with Larry and Nancy and it was nice to get out with them.

more zoo pictures

I know by time you see these all you will be all doen with seeing pictures but this is the last zoo post! I have so many pictures to upload today we will see if I get to them all as I have big plans today and they all revolve around a boy named Matthew! But until he wakes up I wil update this blog!

The only animal one I put in here is this sun bear! Look at that tongue! The kids got to go in those blow up bouncy things. They also got to go to a farm! They have seen all those animals before but they had a good time petting the goats and looking at chickens. No pigs though as they want to go to Iowa to see the pig farm there.

face painting

Here are the close ups of the kids faces. I did not get one of Stephen for some reason only the group shot. But the younger two were cute but the older two picked a panda bear and I did not think they came out all that well but they liked them and they wore them all day until night when they were told to go wash their faces! Can I saw black doe snot come out that well?!
