pictures from the hospital

Stephen and Matthew

Kids with a therapy dog. They loved this part and it was an 11 year old german shepard but the nicest dog. And he loved kids so he laid down waiting on the kids to lay on him. Mini kept sticking her fingers in the poor things eyes. He never cared. He licked her she laughed.
Stephen trying to turn his head. Poor kid could not move it but they loved to ask him to try. But just a short 12 hours later he would be turning it much better. Pain meds and antibiotics are good drugs to have in this world I can tell you.
Stephen and Samantha hanging out on the bed together. This is where Samantha spent as much of her visits to see Stephen as possible. She was really glad when he came home. Matthew was really upset too when they left that nigth so Samantha slept in with him. He did not like his room mate being gone.

Stephen and Mini

So there they are. I told Stephen he looks like a m initure dr all in scrubs. Once he felt better he wanted to keep his scrubs.

Ten years before I was in the hospital with my water broke waiting for our little boy to arrive and there I lay with him now. On his birthday as I laid there with him I remembered him so tiny and now he took up a lot more of the bed. But once more he needed his Mommy. And I needed him to come home. I can not believe he is 10 now and getting so big. He has come so far from 6 pounds 2 ouces and 19 inches long. He is now 58 1/2 inches and 92 pounds. I am so glad to have him home and doing so much better! So another little adventure is behind us and I can not say I ever need to repeat. I hate when one of the kids have to go visit the hospital. We seem to have one in there a year. Why I do not know but I could live without it.

I have seen the inside of that hospital more times this year then I ever need to again. I hope to avoid it for the next 10 years too. So that is our little update with pictures for you all. I am off to go give meds and then grab 4 of those kids and tackle them. Well not Stephen but a hug will do.

Matthew turns 4

Today Matthew turned 4 years old. Here he is sitting with his bike he got from Dennis and I and with his cake! We were in the neighbors garage so we could share it with them. He picked out chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with vanilla cheesecake in the middle!! YUMMM is all I can say! Costco makes the best cakes around!

I can not believe that Matthew is 4 now. He can not either as he says he went from 3 years old to 2! Opps he is going backwards. If only somedays we could.

He is getting so very big and he is growing up way to fast for me. He is getting really good at riding his big bike now and can peddle all over the place. He was showing off for John and Deanna tonight. They clapped and bragged him all up on how good he was doing.

We let him stay up till 10pm the time he was born. Not that he gets that but he did love staying up late. Samantha was too tired she ate her cake and went off to bed. Stephen did not even wait up for cake. Mini she was last to bed. She would have layed for awhile yet.

Happy Birthday my sweet boy! You bring so much joy and laughter and smiles to our little family! Thank you for being such a sweet child!

Mini feeding herself

We took Matthew out for dinner for his birthday tonight. Mini fed herself all of her Mac and Cheese and really did well at it! And then she ate Matthew's left overs. No worries the girl will not let food go to waste!

The county fair

The fair was fun for all! The kids had a really good time and they got to ride lots of rides. And by the end we were all tired and then it was time to make the trip back home to Elk River!

Mini on the ferris wheel with me. I was taking pictures and she was helping me. Can't you tell?

View from the ferris wheel and all the rides and such

Mommy after a hurricane ride. And after a long day of walking!

Mini driving a bike!

Matthew on a roller coaster! No fear is in these children of that I am sure!

Mini on the roller coaster

Larry showing us Matthew's hand onthe hurricane

Matthew and Mini on a ride! They loved this ride!

I hope the DMV is smart enough not to give this boy a drivers liscence! He is way to wild I can tell already!
Stephen and Samantha rode all the big kid rides. They had a blast going ride to ride!

Mini and Matthew went on the bouncing castle! Mini fell every 2 steps but loved every minute of it!

Matthew driving a bike!

Fingers I say

going for a car ride and they both needed a nap can you tell?

Stephen and his kneck

Here is Stephen while down in Iowa. He iced his kneck with a frozen cup and was just miserable most of the trip.

Just so you all know he is going to see his regular doctor tomorrow morning at 11:45 so I can find out why he still has swollen glands.

Larry turned 59!!

Yep he turned 59 while we were there! And of course what would any 59 year old man want for his party??? Dora of course!! Happy Birthday Larry!!

The bent and dent

Oh how I do love me the bent and dent store.

It is run by an Amish community and it was really neat to see the buggies and the dress. The store has no electricity so on a rainy day it was dark in there. Though Nancy says normally they light the latterns then.

Mini and the computer

Yep Matthew showed her the finer joys of Mick Jr and playing what else DORA!!! Got to love Dora! So even in Iowa we got to play Dora.
You may be wondering about her onsies snapped at her shoulder. Well little miss Rose has decided she likes to go potty! Well great but onsies fall in the toliet more often then not this way she could go sit and not get wet. And no she does not pee often but she likes to try. And notice he foot she was running around in Matthew's one shoe. Not 2 just one will do thank you very much!

Larry and Mini

Mini made up for the head rubbing though with kisses! She did love her some kisses with everyone!

Larry and his head

Nancy rubbed Larry's head and then Mini caught on and loved rubbing his head! Poor guy had people rubbing his hair all week!

Cool kids

Matthew is tired and you know it when he says he is chilly and wants to warm up and cuddle under a blanket. Always a few minutes later you have a little boy sound asleep!

The picture of Mini is after she found Matthew's hat! She thought she was the coolest child around!

Home from doctor

Well whatever he has it is not strep! It is viral so we just wait it out now and hope he gets to feeling better soon. He is to take IB profen and tylenol today and tomorrow and he shoudl start feeling better then she said. I hope she is right as the fair is going on!

And really he wants to go down to the barns but till he feels better he can't go see the pigs. Because yes we are down on the farm once more. The pigs are doing good and the kids love them as much as ever. Samantha spent the whole day down there today.

Tonight we will go walk the fair if Stephen is feeling up to it. He did eat lunch today and is drinking so I am sure he will be on the mend soon!

Stephen is sick

We don't know with what just yet but he is not feeling good at all. We went to the chiro yesterday he told me to take him to the dr today. As he got his kneck to be better but his throat is all swollen. So off we go today at 10:45. I am sure we are in for another round of strep or some such thing. I just hope he gets to feeling better today as he did not sleep last night at all.

So Mommy and Stephen could use some sleep. And sooner rather then later works for me. So say a prayer that they can just give him meds and his kneck will get to feeling better as right now he walks like he is 100 years old. I will update after our appt!

who is this big girl?

Mini has been having bad nights sleeping. I thought it could be she was getting tired of sleepingin a crib. So we put her down in the big bed last night. But she still cried in her sleep so I do not think it is the crib. I think it is her eye teeth bothering her. Though when she cried I could go in an dlay by her she never woke up this way. But I will be keeping my baby in a crib yet. I am so not ready for her to be in a bed. She can not be that big yet can she?

swimming at the lake

On our way home from the Mall of America Tia called to see if we wanted to come swim at her place on the lake so we stopped of at home grabbed swim suits and headed over.

Mini Matthew and Dennis building with sand and water! Two of their favorite things to play in!

Kids int he backgrounds swimming around! They had so much fun! Matthew just paddled around with his little life jacket on but Mini was not so great at it. She just tipped over and drank water so you had to be standing by her the whole time.
So after a few hours of being in the water we packed up our kids and headed home. A busy Father's day here and a tired group of people too! Stephen had to get up at 7:20 this morning for boy scout camp and he was sound asleep and Dennis had a hard time getting him up. So you know how long a day yesterday was as he is always up at 6:30 sharp!

Underwater World at Mall

The pictures are not in order. It is because I am a dork and forgot to add more then 5 pictures you have to load them backwards or spend an hour moving then around or redo them. Not happening in this house today. So in no random order I will tell you about them though! Mini loved seeing the sih as always! Once she woke up that is.

She slept through the first part which are the pictures at the bottom. She woke up once we got in the tunnel with the sharks. Which is her favorite part anyway. Matthew loved all the fish as he too always does. He loves the shark tank the best. The northern pike are nice and all but sharks well they just take the cake!
Before entering the tunnel you get to see tortoises and Koi and small turtles too. And then there is Brutus an aligator snapping turtle. The kids love him! We also got to see some logs they pulled from Lake Superior. The logs are stamped still from the 1800. Beautiful pieces of wood!

Dad the picture of the Cat fish is just for you! I would love to see you pull that one up one day! Your rod would break in 2 or maybe that was the size of the Northern that broke your rod at the cabin!

In the end they had a sand box to play in and of course Mini found a little friend to sit and hang out with right off the bat! It is white beach sand and it is all set up with toys to play in. She loved it as did Matthew.
