Lunch with family

Sunday I made tacos and burritos and had Mom and Dad over and Lisa and Allen and the kids and Ernie got in. We had a great lunch and we sat and chatted after lunch. Dad even liked the tacos. He made a salad. With lots of topping choices it made for good eating here. And we had lots of people to sit around the table. Just the way I like it!

Bathroom party

I feel kinda bad for Matthew as Mini's new thing is if the poor thing goes in there to pee or poop Mini feels the need to go also. Yea so they having pooping parties! I laugh because it is so dang funny both sitting there doing business and talking to each other like they were having a snack together!

The ugliest Christmas sweater

So Ernie needed an ugly Christmas sweater. So we found him one but knew it would not be long enough so we found a t-shirt to go under it. You have to love a man who will 1 wear something like this and 2 still like us and call us friends!

Christmas morning

Christmas morning came early here and Santa had shown up sometime in the night. Stephen and Samantha had figured it out and we told them the truth but man I can not believe I have kids old enough to know about Santa. The kids loved opening gifts and they got at least one thing on thier lists.
They have played lots the last few days with toys from Christmas. They are even sharing! Nancy the kids were playing the carnival game tonight. It is hard! Grandma Susan gave them a DJ recording thing. It is loud but they are having fun singing into it and playing the keyboard. I will not say what they sound like but htink cats in heat. LOL I love the week after Christmas trying to figure out all the new games!
So it has been quiet here. We have had company almost everyday. Lisa and Allen and the kids left yesterday from here. Ernie came yesterday. He leaves in the morning. Dennis goes back to work in the morning. So our days will go back to somewhat of a routine.
The kids have off this week yet.I am thinking we need a WII face off me and the kids. Tomorrow may just be the day to do it!

so tired

The kids had stayed up late on the 23rd because it was the last day of school for them. The trip to the farm was very quiet. Christmas Eve was strange this year as Dennis went to work in the morning. He normally has off for the whole day. The kids and I laid around till it was time to go. And then they slept the whole way there.

Such a nice way to travel!

Busy making memories

The kids are busy playing with new toys. I am busy sewing. Check out the embroidery blog to see the new things I am doing. And Dennis is getting ready to break things tomorrow and Monday with Ernie! I know can you believe it?

We have had Lisa and Allen here since Friday morning and they are staying till tomorrow. Mom and Dad are coming for lunch and so is Ernie. He will be staying till tuesday morning early. So lots of company and all that fun stuff. I am sewing underwear for Shorty so he has some New Years ones so I am busy with that tonight. But I am hoping to get most of it done here so I can head to bed soon!

This Christmas has been a good one. Strange I would say but good none the less. I am trying hard to be thankful for everything and not look to far in the future. I want to take life day by day but man sometimes that is hard to do. We have some big doctor appt coming up. For me, for Mom, for Samantha and for good measure Dad has one too! I am praying 2009 is a healthy healthy year for us. And stress free and happy and settled and oh so many things. Each year it seems I am ready to see the end of that year as the one before seemed hard. But each year the next one seems so much harder for me. And then my kids are bigger and I never know where the time has gone. So I want to take it day by day but that for me is a big one I will be working on for the rest of my life.

So for tonight I leave you with pictures below and pictures of sewing on the other blog and the ramblings of a tired Mom. Good Night!

Painted nails

Dennis painted my toe nails for me the other night while I sewed and of course then Mini had me do her finger nails and Samantha had me do her finger nails. And then Mini declared that this made her much much older and almost a Mom so her name is no longer me me but Rose. And we died laughing as she meant it. So about and hour later she asked for the nail polish off so she could be Meme again! I told her she was still Meme even with it on and Samantha was still Samantha with it on. So it is still ona nd cute as ever. She loves it. I am not into all the girly things but I love to put that smile on the girls' faces with something so very simple.

snow

So last week we got snow! Snow glorious snow! But then it froze again! And then we got more snow! Now we have enough. So if it would just stay at say 30 degrees the rest of winter I would be a happy girl. this 25 below crap is not for me! I hate 1 below zero so this junk of 20's and 30's below is hard on me.

What I find in my bed

After working on a design downstairs I found this in my bed the other night! And she is awake here let me just say giggling under that love blanket of hers. Hoping I do not see her so I just lay down and sleep and she can snuggle in. And you know what it worked as I was tired to and she just loves to snuggle!

Decotrating the tree

Yea so we finally got the tree up. Well it took an extra day to get the angel up as I needed more help from Dennis and he left for work the next morning. oops! We are not so good this year with the whole getting into this Christmas thing. I don't know but it is good we have kids or I would have ignored the whole tree thing this year. And I have to say Mini left all my ornaments alone last year and this year she has rearranged the tree at least 10 times now and she is good at losing all the hooks! Driving me nuts! Thank goodness the thing comes down in a short week. Of course Twitch was so very energetic while we decorated! Got to love that dog!
This too is the first year we just gave each of the kids their boxes of ornaments and let them just decorate the tree. We put the hooks on for Mini and Matthew but that was it. I put one ornament on this year. And that was fine by me. I am figuring in a few short years the kids will get out my stuff and decorate my tree for me without me to help. Maybe by then I will be back in the Christmas mood.

Oh the cold

The kids just had to get out in the fresh snow and out they went. But they also stayed out too long and were frozen little people when they came back in. So it was time for hot chocolate! Which did not hurt anyones feelings and I had colored marshmellows for them to have in there. Even better in their book!

Baking for Christmas

My sister Lisa flew in from Michigan last Monday and since the road were so bad she stayed with me till Thur morning. So we baked here instead of at mom's house. We baked 7 flavors of rock candy, we baked 3 batches of angel candy and we made 4 batches of peanut brittle that came out. And of the 7 flovors of rock candy they were 11 batches we did. So to say we were busy with that was an understatement. The next day we made choc dipped long pretzels and choc dipped reg pretzels and we dipped the angel candy. And then Thur morning we headed to watkins. The kids did really good the time and played nice. Mini played with her ltitle animals and couted to us. She also got in on the sampling of things. She loved that part!

Merry Christmas

From us to you all I hope this Christmas is a safe one for everyone! We are headed to Mom and Dad's tonight and then home again so the kids are here to see Santa has come in the morning.

I plan to download all my pictures from thsi week here in a bit and I will up load them up here. As I have a ton on the camera. Lots of sewing for the embroidery blog and lots of kids and decorating for Christmas too! SO just be patient and you will have new pictures.

Well it is somewhere but no snow here. Maybe tomorrow! They say we should get lots and really it is a Sat I do not have to worry about Dennis on the roads so go right ahead and snow! The tree is going up today and we will decorate tonight or tomorrow morning. Baking is done. And I am busy sewing up a storm! As gifts are not all done yet! oops! But I am busy sewing for others so my projects are getting pushed out a bit. But I have a week so I can have planty of time to sew yet!

Happy Birthday Meme Rose

Oh my little one. How is it that yesterday you turned 3 years old? How is it that you have gone from so very tiny to being such a big girl? I looked through the last 3 years of pictures and watched you change. But seeing you everyday I did not see it. I di not see my baby turn into a toddler who now seems to be going on 16! You drive your Mommy batty somedays. Your attitude can test a saint but if truth be told I am glad you have it little one as I know in the end it will make you strong lady and you will stand on your own without needing someone to make it happen you will take charge and make it happen on your own!

You had no hair forever and htis year you got lots of it! Though to you clothing is still optional and if we stay home all dayy you never have any intention of ever putting any on ever! Oh how I miss your sweet smell from your baby days. How I miss a baby who snuggled in and never wanted down. And yet I love to see that independence grow each day for you. As you step more and more out into your own world. And still come back to cuddle and show me your boo boos. And I love that a bandaide and a kiss still is a cure all for those cuts. And a frozen rice bag can fix anything else. That you believe Mommy and Daddy can make anything happen for you. I love you little one! Happy Birthday!

Poor twitch

yea puppy has had a rough life as of late. He got fixed Wed and he had to stay with Mom and Dad Tues night and it did not go well from what I hear. he hid under a bed all day and Dad had to chase him out to make him go out potty. And then Wed I came to get him and bring him home after getting fixed. He was soo happy to see me. I met Dennis at the bowling alley and he swapped cars with me. And poor Twitch did not know. He sat by the car after Dennis let him and waited for me to get out and I never did! The injustice of it all! And then Sat came and all these people came in the house! It took him hours to come out of hiding and see what was happening but he did finally settle into the fact that people were there get over it.

But he is much happier today as I am busy sewing and he is busy sleeping at my feet!

Peppermint Coffee

So Christmas to me is peppermint coffee that they only have out once a year. This year we seen it once did not buy it and it was out the next day and we have yet to see it again. Till last night after we got the new toilet we stopped by Walmart to see if was in yet and it was! Oh yea it was a sweet sweet moment for me and I own me peppermint coffee now. And I drank a pot of it last night while we watched TV and rocked a little girl who had a tummy ache form all the food she ate. She has also picked up a cold so that is not helping. She has been asleep for 3 hours now and shows no signs of waking. I sure hope this helps make her feel better!

But this coffee is so worth the wait as I drink it I can taste candycanes and Christmas. Maybe I will get in the mood for Christmas now that birthday parties are over and Christmas is around the corner. Now to get our tree up!

What happened?

You maybe wondering why I have pictures of my toilet with pictures of a birthday party. It would be a good question. While I cleaned for the party Sat morning I thought hey I will put my tablet in the back to keep it clean! Good plan but then I tinked the tank with the cover from the tank and it cracked. Not just cracked but cracked all the way down. And it leaked and it was 10 minutes before Mom and Dad walked in the house for the party. So no time to really go get a new one and install it.

Yea good one Rose. And then last night as we took off the old one and went to put on the new one Dennis saw the flange was broke. Yea not from me that would be a Dennis move from when we put the tile in. And so we called Roger and he had to tell us what to do. he was going to come Wed to fix it for us but today Dennis got it all fixed again and I have a new toilet and it uses so much less water! And it works and does not leak! What more could a girl ask for?

Puzzles!

Ohhow puzzles make Mini think and be happy. Jim did the puzzle with her a few times. Kay did the puzzle with he a few times. I did it with her last night a few times. Dennis this morning a few times. Jim and Kay gave her the puzzle and it will get much use out of it as she gets better and better putting the pieces together.

Logan all tangled up

Mini was not the only one to love all the balloons. Well all the kids did but Logan was in awe of them too as he could tangle himself up and walk and they walked with him. The fun those things have given to the kids even today is amazing. I am not sure how it can be so exciting but it is. They havetied balloons to stuffed animals to see how many it takes to make them float up in the air. And they have ties them to each other to. And many have popped but the others are still floating in the air ready to play with.
