rainy weather

you know the weather could get to be just a little like it should be any day now. I am so done with cold rainy weather. I am done with it being so wet outside I can not mow my lawn. I got half done the other day the rest just sots there in desperate need of it being cut. It is going to seed for goodness sake.

I can have no fire I can not bbq unless I wish to be soaking wet by time I get the bbq lit. And really the fire is beyond help. The wood is so wet. If it ever drys out I plan to light a fire and stay there for 2 days.

The rain has had a bad effect on the toy room and the poor kids are just wore out this morning. Going nuts as they just want out. But it is just yucky out there. And cold. What is up with the cold? Can we just get over it and warm up?

And if it ever drys out I have a ton of branches from that willow to rake up and put in my fire pit. But I am not walking in the grass till it deos now squish up over my shoes when I walk in the grass.

Matthew has school today and that is the only time I plan on going out today. But really I am sure Mini is looking forward to Matthew leaving today as they have not got along for more then 5 minutes all day. Why because they are playing with the same toys over and over again and of course have to play witht he ones the other is playing with. Matthew has 2 days left of school after today. Stephen and Samantha have 5 days. Always by now we have been in shorts for a week or so. But not this year. I think Samantha wore them one day and Stephen one day. Me never as of yet! Bring me sunshine!

Teacher gifts

The three sweatshirts are for my kids teachers and the 2 blue t-shirts are for Tia's kids teachers. We also made a bag with the special education teacher on it to. But I wrapped it before we got a picture of it.

The angel towels I made up to have ready for the craft fairs this fall but they are gone already. Our neighbor saw them. I am making her a 7th one to complete her set right now as I type. So tomorrow maybe I will start on a new set for the craft fairs.

I have a few teacher bags to do yet though and 2 sweatshirts for Kent's company. So I will be sewing for a few days yet. I want to have 49 towels done for craft fairs by fall when they kick in to high hear. And a few sweatshirts to have there to. So even when I find myself bored I will have sewing to do.

But I hear children running upstairs where they should be tucked in quietly sleeping so I best sign off for now and type later.

playing in the rain

Stephen's soccer game was canceled because it was thunder and lighting tonight but today during the day it just rained and rained and then rained some more.

Now, of course Mini and Matthew wanted outside! So I got them all dressed warm told them to play in the garage so they woul dnot get to cold. (yes I knew when putting on Matthew's hat and gloves and Mini's hood they would go outside to play.) And they had a lot of fun just walking in the rain. They had to stay in our yard or the driveway as there are 2 garage sales going on in the neighborhood right now so way to many strangers and cars going up the area to be wandering any farther then I can see them.

They came in wet and cold so we had hot chocolate and warmed up under the quilts and watched a few shows. Their new favorite show besides Dora and little Einstiens is backyardigans. It is nice I must say watching different shows each time now instead of Dora time and time again!

Samantha and her back

So the doctor called today with the results of Samantha's x-rays we had taken of her back. She has a little over a 10 degree curve she will need to get new x-rays done every 9 months or so. And they will retake them. At 15 degrees she will go to Children's and at 20 degrees they start treatment. So she has a ways to go before we have to think about that. I am really hoping it does not get much worse as she grows but that is not how it normally works. It normally gets a little worse with each inch they grow. But with my kids who knows. I swear my kids never do what sciece says they should do. Sometimes that is good sometimes not so much so. But doctors only know what the majority do and you know I do not know many kids who fit into that at all.

So anyway she is fine and we just got get pictures every 9 months to see how it is doing. I have scoliosis too so I am not real surprised she ended up with it. Now next week she is off to the ortho to see what to do with her teeth! Does it ever end?

Mom's

You know Mom's try we really do but somedays are not our best. Yesterday was one of them for me. I was tired and I knew it was a bad combination for my kids who really wanted to be outside playing not doing homework. And so lots of yelling happened yesterday. Well and the fact that Stephen dropped a package of lunch meat on the floor then threw it away did not go over all that great either.

I swear kids think parents are made of money and they do not get that whole concept at all. But I digress. By last night the kids and i had mended fences but I really hate the days I yell and I know I need to let it wash off me as in the grand scheme of things what they are doing is not that big a deal. Pick my battles and all that but yesterday i was too tired to care. I wanted to win them all and ended up winning them but losing at the same time.

Today has been a much better day I got sleep and they called in the new thyroid meds for me so maybe those numbers will look better soon and I will not be soo tired for the fun of it. And I can find some patience under a rock to help me as I raise 4 kids who I hope someday are well rounded kids.

the girls

Oh our girls go to the game. i am not sure why sometimes. Well Samantha has to go as she plays right after. Mini why we take her not so sure. She likes to take drinks of water. She likes to go play in the grass. She smiles pretty and she steals my glasses. A pain to have with but she does not want to stay home either that is for sure!

I love how the picture of mini standing holding the ball came out. She is all for playing soccer but she wants to be the only one who touches it. So she has you go play with her, she kicks it but you best not kick it back.

Dennis ended up spending part of the game on a work phone call so he missed part of the game but he took Samantha to her game afterward which allowed me to not go. And since he met us at Matthew's game straight form work we could just swap kids. Stephen went to visit a friend while we were at soccer so he did not have to watch. he likes to play but being on the sidelines not so exciting. I do not blame him!

Game 3 for Texas Orange

Oh and we lost people. It was the kids first loss and to tell you the truth they have no clue and do not care! The finally came up to a team that had a good player like our L. Matthew got a few kicks in and then he got run over the top of and has a bruise on his cheek and a skinned knee. But he had a good time as always and got right back in there to kick away after getting run over.

I am here

That is about all I can say. Not that I am doing anythign all that exciting I am here though. We had soccer last night. And soccer tonight I am busy sewing. I made the three teacher sweatshirts yesterday. I am starting to make towels for craft sales this fall. So today I am working on that. I need to go pick up shirts to do somemore for Tia's teachers.

So I will post pictures later today of them. I also have pictures of Matthew's game. I did not go to Samantha's game Dennis did and he took no pictures. I took the little ones home and started mowing the lawn. Now it is raining and I can not finish. I swear they told me it would rain in the afternoon. Weathermen know nothing!

Shorty's Bar Sat night

So we brought Shorty his underwear and the 2 sweatshirts I did on Sat night. I met Kristie up there and we had a really good time. One of the Kramer boys son turned 21 that night. Much Mich Light going down and I ran into a few kids from high school.

Shorty had a DJ and dancing. I did not do much of that but I did lots of visiting and Kristie took one of my cards with my name on it. Not sure if she was forgeting who I was or what! But she came to see me the next day in Elk River and came bowling with us so must not be too bad!

I have pictures but blogger is not letting me load them at all so I will have to try later.

bowling started again

yep bowling started again on Sunday! This time mixed couples with Tia Kent Dennis and I on a team! Man are we in trouble! Good thing Kent is on the team he is really good! Though I bowled with an average of 137. So I started the season off with a good average now if I can just keep it up there.

really neat t-shirt

I made this shirt for Kristie and it really came out nice. I knew the design looked cool but you never know if they will come out that nice but this one came out looking as good as I thought it would.

I got a whole bunch of new ones the other day and I am excited to try them all out. But first I need to do the teacher sweatshirts I have left to do for my kids teachers. So those three are the next things I will be doing.

more later

yea I havemore pictures to post but no time as I have a doctor appt in a few minutes and I am not ready for it. So I will have to post again later on. Dennis finished the 1/4 round on the baseboards and I took a picture of the flowering crab for you. I also finished a really neat t-shirt for Kristie that turned out awsome that i will post pictures of later.

And really blogger is being a pain as it never posts the first try and it drives me nuts when it is like this.

The sandbox draw

not sure what it is but the sandbox has a draw to the kids. Mini loves to go sit in there and play. Matthew loves ot sit in there and play as do Samantha and Stephen. But Mini and Matthew can sit forever in there and just pour sand. I snuck up on Mini so I could get a few nice pictures of her playing without her posing.

oh the joys of kids

Poor Dennis was sleeping in and then came Mini. I could hear her up there. I go and he is hiding under the covers. i could tell he was awake and sure enough I pulled the cover downa nd he was shocked to see me and the camera. Hiding from kids does not work here! Silly silly man!

a new phone for me

Dennis had me get a new phone since his company changed his service provider we went to me having my own service plan with ATT again. As I did not want to change provider once more. I really like ATT and I get service down at the cabin which i had never had with anyone else.

I like my new phone and I am learnign how to run it slowly but surly!

Friday night

We had a good time Friday night. We sata round the fire. matthew was sad at bedtime as he really likes fires to. But why so sad I do not know as he had been busy playing not sitting by the fire. but he said he was sad as he wanted to sit by the fire more!

Dennis found new ways to try and burn himself but failed at it. Tia and kent and thier kids were over. So we had a good time.

twins day at school

So Samantha and Lyndsey were twins. Tia went and bought them matching outfits. They wore pigtails and had a good time. It was activity day at school so it was a fun day they had races and tug o wars and climbing. The girls both came home pink to match their shirts.

Memorial Day Storm

yea I have many pictures to share from this weekend but for today the storm is what I will post on. The first picture is of the storm coming in when the sirens were going off. The second is the huge rain drop we saw land on the deck as it came in. But we could hear them hitting the trees and then a golf ball size hail stone hit right by Dennis and shattered.
I got one of my tomatoe plants after the storm. We had moved them up against the house but the storm blew in and shredded them. Poor things. I doubt I will be getting any cherry tomatoes now.

Matthew and Rose went in the hail and played once it stopped and the one out the garage door is of the hail coming down. I am really surprised we did not have more broken glass then just the light. It hit the sliding doors so hard and often I was shocked they did not break.

We had been sitting by the fire not long before the storm hit but it became a lake and my fire went out. Lots of rain and hail but we were lucky and Elk River avoided the tornado once more. I am glad we are not digging out of our house being ripped apart like so many down south are. So I will end and say Happy Memorial Day and I hope you are all safe today to!
