A new favorite

A new favorite of the kids is a salad! yea go figure! We have been making my big stainless steel bowl up 2-3 times a week! The kids take it for cold lunches to school. And eat it for snack! I just cut up romaine lettuce, spring onions, green bell pepper, carrots, and cucumbers. Toss it together and there you have it. And the kids put a fat free Italian dressing on it! The only one who hates it is Mini but really does that surprise you? And Matthew wishes the onions would go away. He says they are way to spicy but other then that the bowl disappears all the time.

Makes a Mom proud if she thought it was something she did to get them to like it but not so much.; I love this salad to but I just got lucky to find something the kids will go for anytime of day.

Cub Scout Cake Auction

so yes it was that time of year again. And of course I thought I would make some great thing for Stephen to bring for cake auction to be judged and then sold. I saw these cake balls and cake lollipops on Pioneer Woman's site and loved the thought of them. I mean really how neat are they and they can be used for so many different designs!



Yea so I did not really think how much work these little things would be! I mean to make a few dozen lollipops and 4 dozen mini cupcakes took one whole night and 1 whole day. And then it was time to decorate for the nights auction!

But it came out great and Stephen in his last year of cake auction took most beautiful and grand champion at the cake auction. He has 2 ribbons for this one. The other cake I made was the mini muffins dipped in chocolate. But I just set them on a platter and served it up. I just ran out of time.

But these things are very good. And I love to eat them so I am glad to get them out of my house. Everyone who has tried them have liked them. But I am glad cake auctions are behind us for a full year. really close to 2 years before Matthew comes up to cub scouts.

Behind

I have so many topics to cover on here. I have pictures to download. Lots of them. Enough that I may not put them all up. I may just put up my favorites. But Matthew and I plan to hang out here at home today. Mini will hang with us to. It is raining frozen little balls of ice rightn ow. It is cold and yucky and it is a day for coffee and and sewing and watchign tv with the kids. And making cake balls for the bake sale at school.

really fast post

I am posting fast. Dennis got the internet fixed for now. but told me it is going to go down again. Something about broken routers or modems. You stuff and things. I have lots of updates.

Matthew is complaining of his ear hurting. We will see what the weekend brings. I am finishing up cookies so I am busy with that. And I am sewing. And we went out for Dennis' birthday tonight. I will post when I can. By Tuesday or wed at the latest it should be fixed again.

A visit with Bear

Jim and Kay got a new puppy! He is Twitches brother. Well Jim says cousin. Since they are different litters. Anyway, Oh he is cute and tiny! But can I say funny! He has the pug face and a poodle tail. Twitch was not impressed! I mean at all!

Still Smiling

Wednesday night I bowled a bad game an ok game and a good game. We lost all 7 points. We had some close games but we lost none the less. We had a good time playing though. We were celebrating Nell's birthday. So though we dropped out of 1st we were happy happy girls.

sticker girl

Yes she loves stickers. She loves the fact that by doing the bread program that we get a sticker to enter the school. That is why she likes it. And she loves to go to Wal-mart as they always give her a sticker. And she loves when I have to go to the doctor or Matthew for that matter as once more she gets to wear stickers! And there they give her 3 or 4 at a crack! She is cute and she dang well knows it.

Worth the wait

These pictures of Stephen are form when he went on his field trip last Wednesday. They went to see the MN orchestra play. he loved it! And he looked so very grown up. It is so hard for me to think soon he may not like me. not one bit. Not even want to come hang out with me while I sew. Not want to hang out with me while I cook. And not tell me I am the best cook in the whole world even when I am making mac an cheese. I love him and I already know when he leaves home someday I will be one of those Mom's who are sad and crying and just wanting her baby to stay.

I hope all the pictures are worth the wait. Life is not slow here. I am making cake balls tonight and dipping them in chocolate tonight and then decorating them tomorrow to take to the cake auction tomorrow night for boy scouts. I have the balls made up. they are chilling so I thought I would come update some.

Another Wednesday

Tonight I go bowl. It has been the case the last 4 Wednesdays that someone gets sick on me. I go bowl I come home I get ready for bed and someone gets sick. I am hoping not tonight. I am hoping that no one comes down with anything. Matthew is improving as he says his ear is not so sore. The nasal stuff seems to let him sleep much better. So all around I am pleased.

I have pictures to download. Both kids had field trips today. Stephen went to hear the Minnesota Orchestra play. Samantha went to the science mesuem. I took some shots of Stephen as he was all dressed up. I love him when he is dressed all in dress pants and shirt. He has become this handsome little man. Who I want to point out just went into an 11 1/2 mens shoe! Scares me it does to think that he has gotten so big on me!

Anyway I will get to photos in the morning. Or tonight if it is not a late night. but we are celebrating a birthday there tonight so we will see.

welllllll.......

Well we are home. We have 2 meds. One is ear drops and one is a nasal spray to try and shrink his adnoids. His ear canal is infected not the ear drum. Good news. Bad news is there is still fluid on the ear drum. She said it can get infected anyday. So off to ENT we went and he looked and we talked and he said to try the nasal spray in hopes of putting this off a bit. But if he gets another ear infection our hands are tied. poor kid does not catch a break.

What a weekend

OMG is all I can say about our weekend! Sat we ended up going out to dinner with Joe and Pat who came down to look at parade of home houses. We had a realy good time out to dinner. And then we came home to tuck in kids.

Sunday we went out and got most of the things Stephen needed for boy scouts! WOW is all I can say! It is getting expensive fast! But he has his first camping trip this weekend so I needed to get it this week.

Then Sunday night rolled around and Matthew was up crying his ear hurts. Yea his left ear again. Today is his last day of antibiotics. So guess where we will be today? His doctor should be calling shortly with a time. Then after her ENT will get a call and I am thinking tonsils will have to come out now rather then this summer. but maybe this pain is not an infection. Maybe it is somehting else. Right? I mean it has to have cleared up right? Please

ccokie booths are done

Tonight was our last one! I just put the last order in for the troop. I have counted the money and I am all done! Well not really but no more ordering and picking up cookie. I need to deliver some yet to Mom's but the booths are done and they are the most work. So I am tired and ready for bed. I just need to get a little more paper work done and then I am headed that way! I hope you are all headed there soon too!

Mama said there would be days like this

There are days as a Mom I find to be so challenging. Not that anything is wrong just hard. Mini did not nap. Matthew did not nap. And we had to be places at a certain time. Nothing I could do about it. On days like this the kids have to go with Mommies time not theirs. It always makes for a rough day but no naps in there really make for a rough night with Mini. She will argue that the sky is blue if you ask her. She will argue that she is not tired even though she can not walk a straight line. And she will refuse to eat for general purposes. It makes for a hard night. And then throw in Matthew who is tired and he feels the need to make her as mad as he can as often as he can, because he can!

I took a mental health break and took a nice hot shower tonight and now they are sleeping. I am finishing up reorders for cookies and I am getting ready for a cookie booth tomorrow night. And I am dreaming of a warm bed upstairs. But that is a few hours away yet. But a pot of coffee is made and I plan on having a hot cup shortly while I count cookies.

good night from a tired Mommy who is so glad bedtime has come and 4 people are in bed sleeping!

Off to the new troop

Last night Stephen got to wear his new uniform to his troop meeting. He looks so sharp in it!

Wiped out

Oh there is the dog in a chair I can nap there! This boy will sleep anywhere!

This season of being sick has really wiped Matthew out. I have found him napping in the strangest spots in the house. Including on the front doors rug. Not comfortable at all I am sure but he does it anyway.

Yucky me

Yea I look bad. But I am on my meds and i know I will be feeling better soon. I will just be ill in peace though as at least i know my kids will not get this from me!

But I know you did not log on to see my face this morning. So I will get on posting more pictures!

Oopps

Sorry I have not downloaded pictures yet. I have slept the last 3 hours. I got to the doctor here in 45 minutes. And i have to get supper going as Tia and the kids are coming over to eat. I wil get to it tonight as with such a long nap maybe I will be p half the night!

Appt updates

So first Ortho went good this morning. Samantha goes back in 9 months. They have to wait to see if these 2 teeth of hers plan on ever coming down on their own or not. Knowing my daughter not but who knows right? Anyway so we do not have to go back till mid December. they did notice however that the one filling she had is missing. Yea no one knows when it fell out but it did so Thur she will go get it fixed. Got to love kids!





Mini's ear recheck went great! Her ears are clear and she is healthy! I love them words!





Matthew's ear recheck that was really a check to be sure the antibiotic he is on now is working went good too. His ear is looking much better. And I talked to her about his snoring and if this is why his ear is not draining nice and she checked his tonsils and they are large. And she siad this is most likely why he is having a hard time getting rid of this ear infection. And snoring and waking at night and all that fun stuff he does that he never did before htis last year.





So on the 23rd when he has another ear recheck then he will be referred out to ENT and he will be scheduled to lose his tonsils and adnoids. We hope to be able to wait till summer so he misses no speech or preschool. But if he keeps up witht he ear infections we will schedule sooner rather then later.





And Twitch is beautiful after his haircut! So we made all the appts and now I am home form girl scouts and it is time to make dinner and then I am off to bed early as I am still sick with this head cold. I am thinking tomorrow if I find time I will go in and have them give me some meds to make it go away.



I will download some shots I have taken tomorrow morning. We are supposed to have a snowstorm so I should be grounded and able to play on here a bit.

Catch up time

First off tomorrow is the last day of the fund raiser. I am so glad to be done with this. Stephen sold 20 buckets of cookie dough. So almost half of his trip is paid for! He worked hard at this so I am proud of him!

I still have this stupid sinus cold. I may have to go in yet to get something for it. But tomorrow is so booked for me I will have to wait for sure till Tuesday. Tomorrow Twitch goes to get a hair cut. Tomorrow Mini goes to get her ears rechecked to be sure her ear infection is gone. Tomorrow samantha has a Orthodontist appt in the morning. Matthew was supposed to go to the doctor for a ear recheck but low and behold on Sat he came down with a new ear infection. Yea that sucks for him.

So he is on another antibiotic. But Maria and Amari were here with us Friday and into Sat and Maria caught him rubbing his ear so we took him in during the day and I got to sleep. She saved me 8 hours of crying I am so happy! It was good to have them. Though Sat she left while we were all taking a nap.

I am off to bed now as I am tired it is late and tomorrow starts early. As Samantha has to be at the dentist at 8:30am.

Oh thank you thank you thank you!

Yes that is for anyone who was thinking of us and saying a prayer that this flu would go far far away. No one got it Tusday night and for the first time in 3 weeks I got to sleep all night after bowling! I do have a bad head cold. But my kids are healthy and I get to sleep and i know this will make my cold go away much sooner!

Oh I love sleep! And so today I am working on a few projects and I plan to finish laundry and I also plan to make a nice dinner in the crock pot as I have to be out at Walgreens doing a cookie booth for girl scouts come 4pm! So if you are in the area come see my girls as they try to make our troop goal withy selling cookies! Samantha will make her personal goal today I hope. Yes makes me a happy happy Mom to know that we met her goal.

Now I am also letting yo all know that Stephen is selling cookie dough for a fund raiser to. He is trying to raise money for his 6 grade trip. they go away for a week. They also have a website you can look at other things on. I will link it here. If it asks for a code Stephen's code is 223NX7H

the boy scout chair

So here is the chair Dennis got for being a leader. They said it is for boy scouts since in boy scouts the boys run the meetings and he will no longer have to do all the planning but I think it is a time out chair! Those boys need one. Stephen had his first meeting last night and loved it! He has a camping trip already at the end of March. They move quick!

The sleep of the sick

After waking at 2am throwing up this was the first time my baby got any sleep yesterday. She passed out. Fell out of a chair and never knew it. No she has no shirt on. It got puked on twice then I stopped putting one on her tilll she got to feeling better. Though even today she is sleeping lots and tired. She has sleep to catch up on yet. And I think I will go join them for a bit. My eyes hurt.

Friends and Family

We even got a picture of us with Stephen on his night. His cake and his best friend Mitchell from scouts. And Stephen picked a different troop then his friend. And it really showed me how grown up he is becoming. It is amazing how he has just gotten so big. Dennis and Greg now will be leaders in different troops not together. I think out men our more upset then the boys. But it is be strange not being together anymore.

Blue and Gold

Yea this is a lot of pictures and I wish I knoew how to see the pictures while I write but I do not. So I will try to remember them. Maybe someday when Maria comes home she can show me as I know she knows how to do all this.

Blue and Gold is where our 2nd year Webelos cross to boy Scouts but it is also where the leaders of our boys get to cross to. So Stephen got awards and Dennis got awards and they got to learn to throw rope. They got to also make Dennis throw a rope! Funny people funny! if only you could have seen it!

This was a long long thing though, 4 hours long to be exact. So thankfully I remembered snacks for a 3 and 5 year old. I also brought suckers. Let's be honest no one wants to sit still for 4 hours when you get to do almost nothing the whole time but listen. And then at te very end eat. I think that was the only thing that saved the night for Mini and Matthew!

Cub Scout pictures

The boys had their pictures taken again this year. Oh how I love to see Stephen as he went form a tiger scout to a 2nd year Webelo. And now that he has crossed over tonight is his first meeting as a boy scout. He is so very exctied and is dreaming of working to the Eagle Scout already. he has years ahead of him if he stays the course.

Father Daughter Dance

There are 2 sleeping children in my house so i thought I would catch up on some posts. I have pictures to post. I got a shower today. I got sleep again last night. If history is right someone else will get that 24 hour bug tonight. Not happy to think of that but I have set out an onion in advice form Mom and I have lysoled everything again. I have washed everything. I am so praying that no one else gets hit with this. I have come down with one heck of a head cold from no sleep. So I am congested as all get out. Enough so that I took meds today. I hate doing that but I felt really bad today. And I am sewing some towels for a lady at bowling or my head would be on a pillow with that of my kids right now.

Anyway this picture is from the father Daughter dance Dennis and Samantha went to on the 13th of Feb. It was hosted by the girl scouts and they gave us a CD of all the pictures they took. So veyr nice of them! And this way Samantha has all those pictures as memories.

Say it is not so PLEASE!

Well #3 of the 4 children got hit now with that bug. Mini has been throwing up since last night. Poor thing really has it bad and is refusing to try drinks or popscicles. I am working on her to try as dry heaving is way worse then trowing up something. She does not get that. I just really need to work on these kids with throwing up in daylight hours and not keeping Mom up all night.

I am typing this over time so hey it is getting better here finally. I gave Mini some zofran and she is feeling much better. She even drank some sprite.

And I typed to soon as she is back in the throwing up mood again. Oh please make this stop. SOON!

And let's clear the air here people. As I am tired of being yelled at. You know who you are. I boked the flight where I was told to book it. You may have said the wrong place i am sorry I have said I am sorry there is nothing I can do about it now.

I also told them Mom had oxygen they typed it out. We booked from an agent so this would not happen. It still happened. Again I am sorry it happened but really I am too tired to listent to people yell anymore. So if you have nothing nice to say do not call me. Love you all but I do not have the frame of mind to deal with it all rightnow.
