fun at the cabin

Ok I have time and I have pictures so here we go.

On Wed we had just got up there the night before and by 10 in the morning the older 3 were down at the lake swimming. There they met some new friends. And they swam until 5 at night. With a short break to eat lunch. They got to go tubing with their new friends to.
The top picture is Stephen and the bottom of Samantha out there. They had a blast. They were both sad that their friends had to go home the next morning already!

playmates for the kids

Last week Monday and Tuesday I got to watch the nieghbors kids and my kids loved every minute of it. We colored and we played and the kids had so much fun!

I asked Deana if we could borrow them again so Friday we get to play once more with them. I know Matthew will be so pleased as he loves having someone his age to play with.

home sweet home

yep we are home from the cabin and it was oh so nice to sleep in our own bed again and let Mini sleep in her own crib. She slept for 12 hours and woke in a good mood. She went back to 2 naps today and then we played at the lake by Tia all afternoon. This evening we went tubing and the kids had a blast.

They had gone tubing at the cabin with some new friends they met. SO it was a good week but as always home is nice to come back to.

I will update with the photos tomorrow. Tonight I am headed to bed early once more. I am pink from the lake.

headed to the cabin

I wish I could expleain how happy I am tp type this. Yes we are headed to the cabin. The kids and I are going up tonight with my niece Maria and her son Amari in tow. And Dennis will join us on friday night after he works. We will be home on Sunday so I am sure we will not be updating till Monday or so.

The call of the cabin has been so hard to resist and this is my first trip up this whole year! Normally we are up there most weekends after may this being a strange year and with the new job and trying to figure out what is happening with the house no trips have been scheduled in.

So we had the realator over yesterday we lower the house for the last time and now we wait. The market is getting worse by the day here. So the house sits now. If it does not sell it does not sell I guess as we are not willing to write a check out at closing on a house we love.

The stress is hard on me. Dennis seems to deal with it much better. But the peace of the cabin is calling my name to let this all go. Fishing on a lake, floating ont he water and camp fires. I am not sure life could get better.

See you all next week! Have a happy and safe 4th of July!!

A visit to Kelley Farm

The view of the house from the road you walk on to get there. This house was much bigger then we were expecting since it was built in 1850.

Mini reading on the grass growing. She had found a stick and felt the need to carry it with us all day. It was special though just ask her!
This is the kids helping do laundry, I am so glad I am not doing 12-14 loads of laundryt his way. Me and my washer and dryer will stay here thank you very much!

This is in the root celler under the house. Barrels so you know you must can the young ones right away!

There were 3 calves walking around and were tame enough to allow you to walk up and pet them. The kids loved that they could pet them and Mini got licked.

a view of the garden People were out weeding. But they could have weeded for a week straight and not got all the weeds.
The kids enjoyed the water pump. They got to fill buckets of water.

Dennis and Matthew picking potatoe bugs. YUCK is all I can say! Notice the plants have not leaves. Dennis and the kids were all into this. I having seens them before not so much so!

Picking more bugs

But hey then Stephen got to go feed them all to the chickens! He loved that!

We played games from the 1850's also while at the farm. We passed the boot and tried hiding it behind us. Then they guessed who had it.

The bottom half of the barn where the horses and oxen are kept when not outside3. they had a farm cat in here too.

The top half of the barn was a hay barn and it also had an area for corn.

The equipment they had in 1850 for the fields.

I called this the stuff and things bench but it was tools of all kinds and it was neat to check it all out.
Matthew found a chicken out and he chased it thinking he could catch it but no such luck for the small boy!

the hayfield with the hay down already. They were stacking this into the top half of the barn
A close up of the house in the back. that back porch is soo nice! I loved it all!

On the walk back out Mini got a ride! A lot of walking and running and she was happy to sit on the way out.

pictures from the hospital

Stephen and Matthew

Kids with a therapy dog. They loved this part and it was an 11 year old german shepard but the nicest dog. And he loved kids so he laid down waiting on the kids to lay on him. Mini kept sticking her fingers in the poor things eyes. He never cared. He licked her she laughed.
Stephen trying to turn his head. Poor kid could not move it but they loved to ask him to try. But just a short 12 hours later he would be turning it much better. Pain meds and antibiotics are good drugs to have in this world I can tell you.
Stephen and Samantha hanging out on the bed together. This is where Samantha spent as much of her visits to see Stephen as possible. She was really glad when he came home. Matthew was really upset too when they left that nigth so Samantha slept in with him. He did not like his room mate being gone.

Stephen and Mini

So there they are. I told Stephen he looks like a m initure dr all in scrubs. Once he felt better he wanted to keep his scrubs.

Ten years before I was in the hospital with my water broke waiting for our little boy to arrive and there I lay with him now. On his birthday as I laid there with him I remembered him so tiny and now he took up a lot more of the bed. But once more he needed his Mommy. And I needed him to come home. I can not believe he is 10 now and getting so big. He has come so far from 6 pounds 2 ouces and 19 inches long. He is now 58 1/2 inches and 92 pounds. I am so glad to have him home and doing so much better! So another little adventure is behind us and I can not say I ever need to repeat. I hate when one of the kids have to go visit the hospital. We seem to have one in there a year. Why I do not know but I could live without it.

I have seen the inside of that hospital more times this year then I ever need to again. I hope to avoid it for the next 10 years too. So that is our little update with pictures for you all. I am off to go give meds and then grab 4 of those kids and tackle them. Well not Stephen but a hug will do.

We are on the way to the hospital right now. I will update when I can or I will call Dennis and see if he can figure out how to update but please pray for Stephen as we do not know what is up. So he will be spending his 10th birthday in the hospital. We hope to get out tomorrow but it depends on what blood work has to say.

Matthew turns 4

Today Matthew turned 4 years old. Here he is sitting with his bike he got from Dennis and I and with his cake! We were in the neighbors garage so we could share it with them. He picked out chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with vanilla cheesecake in the middle!! YUMMM is all I can say! Costco makes the best cakes around!

I can not believe that Matthew is 4 now. He can not either as he says he went from 3 years old to 2! Opps he is going backwards. If only somedays we could.

He is getting so very big and he is growing up way to fast for me. He is getting really good at riding his big bike now and can peddle all over the place. He was showing off for John and Deanna tonight. They clapped and bragged him all up on how good he was doing.

We let him stay up till 10pm the time he was born. Not that he gets that but he did love staying up late. Samantha was too tired she ate her cake and went off to bed. Stephen did not even wait up for cake. Mini she was last to bed. She would have layed for awhile yet.

Happy Birthday my sweet boy! You bring so much joy and laughter and smiles to our little family! Thank you for being such a sweet child!

Mini feeding herself

We took Matthew out for dinner for his birthday tonight. Mini fed herself all of her Mac and Cheese and really did well at it! And then she ate Matthew's left overs. No worries the girl will not let food go to waste!

The county fair

The fair was fun for all! The kids had a really good time and they got to ride lots of rides. And by the end we were all tired and then it was time to make the trip back home to Elk River!

Mini on the ferris wheel with me. I was taking pictures and she was helping me. Can't you tell?

View from the ferris wheel and all the rides and such

Mommy after a hurricane ride. And after a long day of walking!

Matthew on a roller coaster! No fear is in these children of that I am sure!

Matthew and Mini on a ride! They loved this ride!

I hope the DMV is smart enough not to give this boy a drivers liscence! He is way to wild I can tell already!
Stephen and Samantha rode all the big kid rides. They had a blast going ride to ride!

Mini and Matthew went on the bouncing castle! Mini fell every 2 steps but loved every minute of it!
