I got Nancy and Larry to get together long enough for a few pictures. Good thing I got this one off as wait till you see the next series. There are not amny with them alone.

hanging out

The best part of Saturday was hanging out visiting with family. Huge numbers of us do not get together that often and it is so nice when we can, and it is a happy occasion.

Notice at first the girls and boys were seperated. Just like in hug school dances.

Heaven forbid we get together to talk. The women talked and the men talked. But no worries as the day went on the groups got together. And I got to beat the boys at eucre and take some of their money.

Nancy and Larry's quilt

These are some shots I got of the quilt. I meant to get more. But you know things happen and pictures do not get taken. It is amazing how many form emboirdery I forget to get before they go out the door. 66 blocks are embroidered. 66 blocks are just a print material. I love it and they loved it. And I am glad I am done with it.

Making a quilt

Linda took pity on me and came to help sew the blocks together once I had them embroidered. Well I was still sewing in my office for awhile after she started. But 66 blocks got done. And Linda sewed them together. Tia came over and ironed out each black. And then Wednesday we went to the farm and quilted it. And I hemmed it Thur, Fri and Sat. Yes even the day of the party I was hemming that quilt. I hemmed while I worked on the jackets I am embroidering. It is a double project so that is good.

Mini was not impressed that we were sewing. She just made a nest and crawled in my office and went to sleep. I do not know how her neck can do that but it does.

Twitch was not impressed either. So he brushed his teeth. Linda talked him into it not being a toy finally and he ate it.

Larry and Nancy loved the quilt and that is all I wanted. Now onto finishing the other projects on my table.

Playing cards

We played cards Sunday to and laughed up a storm as Larry and Dennis tried to beat us! And Mom talked to people with the phone upside down. She had a helper in Mini as she stuck close. She may miss out on Grandma handing out food if she lef ther side you never know. I swear the girl eats nothing but never stops eating either!

The pigs in the barn

The farm has many wings in the barn. You could get lost going in circles i swear somedays finding where the pigs are farrowing that day. But the sows waiting to get bred or that are bred but waiting to go to farrowing are in 2 sections. There they hang out till it is their time to go to farrowing. Dennis helped cut tails one day and I did the next. Matthew likes the ones with the pink heads as they go to Jimmy Dean and Mini likes the small babies not so much the bigger ones that make a lot of noise. I took a picture of the barns from the outside though to as the inside gives you no clue as to the size of this thing! We love the farm and love that life moves so slow there. Someday I hope can move that slow for us to!

The rows of sows standing there are 2 rows like that in the wing i took the picture in. The other is not as big I do not think but I could be wrong I did not count thr rows in that side. But in farrowing there are 24 sows per room and I want to say 20 farrowing rooms. It is a lot of pigs let me tell you and the kids have to check them all out at least once a day.

Checking out the fish

We did make it over to check out the fish. And we decided next time a picnic luch is in order as time passes much to quickly while you walk around and look! The kids love to feed the fish and see if they can get them to do a trick. the big ones are my favorite to watch and make come up. We did get to watch the guys scoop out and weigh the smaller ones to see if they were big enough to be released. They wait till they weigh in at 2 per pound to release them into streams. The big ones are the ones that will be released after they use them for spawning for a few years. I want to catch the big ones!

Off to Shorty's we go

So Sat off to Shorty's we went to get some beer and darts in. We threw a lot of games and we had a good time doing it! Poor Lisa never knows what she is getting herself into when she comes out with me! My arm was sore for 2 days from throwing so many games. But so very worth it!
