gardening cabin style

Dad has a garden at the cabin. It has corn that is knee high, that is if you stand on the right side of it. He carries the water to water it. the deer love his garden. He has tomatoes, well there is one that he says is a tomatoe. I am not so sure, it is strange shaped and I think it is a cross for a tomatoe and a potatoe. He has some of those to. Bumper crops I tell you! Of course he has to go up to harvet come fall and he has to go up to water in between. I should have thought of that!

We had beautiful weather at the cabin. We got no rain and it was sunny and nice with a breeze everyday. You could not have asked for a better weekend to spend at the cabin, swimming, fishing, and sitting by a fire.

Lunch with family

Sunday I made tacos and burritos and had Mom and Dad over and Lisa and Allen and the kids and Ernie got in. We had a great lunch and we sat and chatted after lunch. Dad even liked the tacos. He made a salad. With lots of topping choices it made for good eating here. And we had lots of people to sit around the table. Just the way I like it!

Pouring a curb

Yea I am not sure how many people you can squeeze into a small small spot but we got lots in there! And supervisers from all over! The kids all had to check out the truck and the guy blew the horn for them! And the boys worked through it all! Even puppy got in on the action but he had to be in a coat or he wanted to go get stepped on. So we kept him up off the ground! Silly puppy never wants to be where he should be!

Underwater world here we are!

Yes we went to underwater world! And the kids had a blast as they always do! Mini and Matthew checked out everything and I mean everything! And Mini got right up close with the bear to be sure it was not real. Matthew would point at a fish and order me to take a picture of it. So you will see his arm in reflection on a lot of shots because he had to be right there to be sure I got the right picture of the right fish! So stinking cute he is!

And then we found Nemo and Dori from the finding Nemo movie and Mini would have stayed there all day wearing what else but her Nemo sweatshirt I made her! But alas we made them move on from Nemo and leave Underwater World once more.

The Mall of America

We headed off to the mall of america right after the older kids left for school and we stayed there till it was time for them to get home off the bus! A long day of walking and shopping but we got to see some neat things like the lego land. Mini held Grandma Bonnies hand on the way to the mall to make sure she did not get lost!

Kelley Farm

These are from the farm the other day. The one of the horses shows the wheel that exploded into a million and one pieces. And the leather strap that broke. The one of Dennis holding the log is what they used to stop the treadmill so they could get the horses off of it and then tend to their cuts. We got to let the kids pet a calf that was walking around too and see the big cows. They also got to try thier hand at beating the wheat by hand. Lots of work and not so neat. The kids took the wheat and bagged it out of the threshing machine to. All of this before the wheel broke of course.

Grandma and Grandpa liked the farm and walked around and checked things out. They got to watch all the excited kids help out on a farm.

Dad and Bonnie are upstairs sound alseep! They got in very early this morning. Dennis left at 4:30am to go get them and got back here I want to say at 6am. (Me I stayed sleeping as one of us had to stay with the children who sleep sometimes!)

And since they are all sleeping I will go download some pictures for you all as I know you just want to see what I have been doing!
