Planting my seeds

I planted all my seeds and they are not growing yet but they are in their little green houses. And they are sweating in there and they should grow that is what everyone tells me. I am very afraid my seeds will not grow. But I am hoping they do. My herbs are in my kitchen window. And they are not growing either but they should all pop up soon. Except the ones who are not to pop up for 21 days. Those will be a bit yet I guess.

Dennis new favortie toy

This head light Dennis got at Christmas. That Santa is a nice lady if you ask me!

Anyway he thought he would use it sometimes. He uses it everyday almost. And we just bought one for Stephen to take camping for boyscouts as this next trip for him is off to the caves.

Dennis loves this head set and it was inexpensive to. But he works on cars with it. He works on toilets with it and he happens to work on those computers he likes to break with it to. Got to love Santa!

Yes that is a toilet

Dennis is fixing the other toilet. We loved the one form the downstairs so much we switched out this one to. It was needed. And I love this thing. Though it is louder then I notice the one form downstairs. So at night it wakes me up.

yes, that is a toilet sitting in my bathtub. Isn't that where they belong? I mean really I think it is a wonderful artistic statement. I think we should keep it there don't you? But no Dennis took it out the same night even. My house is all put together. No more art. Sorry guys!

A Matthew update

Well since I am almost caught up on here. Yes I still have some pictures to ge tup here. But I am almost there on being caught up on our days. I am going to jump to this morning.

I am like that and since I am writing I get to do that to! (got to love me)

Anyway, Matthew went to ENT this morning. He has fluid in his right and left ears now. His ear drum is retracted in the left and though he can hear out of it it is a flucuating hear loss. So sometimes he can hear from it sometimes not. And his tonsils were really big this morning.

So we scheduled for the first open spot at the hospital for surgery. So on 24 April, (yes Samantha's birthday) Matthew will go in to have his tonsils and adnoids out and a set of tubes put in. We are going to have it done at the hospital just because in young kids the chance of bleeding is a bit higher his doctor said and htis way if anything would happen we would be right there.

So I am picking Lisa up at the airport on the 23rd anyway so she will watch Mini and get the older ones on the bus. And Dennis and I will take Matthew to the hospital. And Samantha will have to celebrate he birthday dinner on the 23rd instead of her actual day. And as of right now we iwll keep the plan in place for dinner on the 25th with Mom and Dad.

So there you have it. Little man will get to feeling better soon now we hope!

March snow storm

Tuesday of this week we had a snow storm during the day. The kids loved it! They played and played outside. They came in dripping wet! Got to love March snow!

Dennis called to see how the weather was. it was nice by him Just us here in Elk River must have been so lucky! And by the next day it was mostly gone already but We got like 3-4 inches that morning in short order. then it started to rain on it so a lot went away already that afternoon. And then that night we had a bit more which is why it took more then a day to go away.

Planting my garden

These are the herbs I am planting in my kitchen window. though now i have read they have less flovor if grown indoors. But I want to grow them year round. I plan to plant basil yet too as soon as I go buy it.

My peppers that are started and sitting in the toy room on a table in planters. Salsa will be good this year baby if only they grow! I am a bit nervous as this is my first year starting my plants from seed rather then starts.

More seeds that I am starting. The radish and the spring onions are not getting started though. When Dad puts in his garden they will go in there. And when my starts are ready they will go to his house too! He never knew all the things I could find to put in his garden! But I am so excited to see them start to grow. I have them all plated now and am watching to see them start to poke up. We will see how many we really get.

More chocolate for school

So the school had their bake sale. I got volunteered to make stuff. God I love my kids! And since I was making treats for school. I made them up for Dennis and the boys at work to. Yea I am that nice sometimes.

When asked what color he wanted for the tops he picked blue. So the work ones were blue. I ran out of blue while making the school ones so some of those ended up being purple. It all worked out just fine.

And the school ones missed out on the sprinkles because really. Way too much work and way to big of a mess to sprinkle that on after each one I dipped. Now if I had a helper, well then that would be a new story but I had no one who volunteered to help me make any of these. And the kids were in bed. So after one tray of sprinkles the sprinkles went to the shelf far out of sight so no one asked again!

the lollipops came out just cute as all get out!

Here were the trays of mini cupcakes waiting for me to dip. Some had to wait till the next morning I got tired.

I made 9 dozen just that night and the next morning. Add to that the 7 dozen from the week before and it got to be a lot of work and mess and chocolate!
Dennis took 2 dozen lollipops to work the next morning and 2 dozen mini cupcakes. the boys are happy now. Though I may just make cookies this week ad send some in. It is always good to keep the boys happy and well fed. They seem to work much nicer then! or play nice anyway!

doing eggs

We bought our dye to make eggs this week. Dennis boiled them today and tonight we may just get to dye them. If not tomorrow night. I know the kids are looking forward to it.
I will get some pictures though when it happens.

More favorites

Carrots yea who knew? We have gone through 10 pounds this week. And I just bought 10 more pounds. As long as I keep a bowl out we eat a ton of them!

Blueberry pancakes were on the menu this week. Sunday and Monday I made batch after batch and froze them individually and now they are in the freezer for kids who are hungry in the morning. They just warm them up and eat. Or in the case of the younger 2 they pull them out frozen and eat away.

Happy Birthday Dennis

So this is late my dear husband. You are 34 now. Almost for a full week! I know I know, but if you had not broke my internet this would not be so very late. (don't you love how it is your fault?)

Of your 34 years I have known you for over half of them. Can you believe it? You were a mere 19 when we met. I a mere 20 year old. What were we thinking?! And now that you are 34 and I a young 115 I must say I am so glad we jumped in with 2 feet.

I hope this next year brings you all your wishes. I hope it brings you closer to all your dreams. I love you man of mine!

Dennis' birthday dinner

Dennis eating things that are too hot to be eaten. And loving every minute of it! Him and Kent have decided to take a wings challenge next time we go out. Silly silly men!

We went mini golfing at the Mall of America. Kent won, how I am not sure as the 4th hole he had like 25 strokes but Dennis said 6 is the most you can have. We had so much fun!

Dennis made sure we all stayed honest with our scores. He would not give up that score card. And he insisted on keeping score too! I am telling you stinkler is what he is!

did you notice?

I am slowly so very slowly catching back up. The internet was out till late yesterday. I can get e-mails now. I can update blogs and I can get caught up! Because really a few days on here is a lot fo pictures sometimes. So I am getting to it slowly!

Oscar and more

Water breaks were needed from the walking. Me being me I got to push the stroller. Got to have that control. I love pushing carts and strollers no matter where I am.

Look Dad Oscar!! The kids loved this fish! He had names on it for donations but it looked so dang cool! They all had to check it out!

I think it wanted to eat Stephen for lunch!

MN Zoo

So I got Dennis a family pass to the MN Zoo for his birthday. He loved it there last year when we went. So Friday the kids had no school last week so I brought them. We even let Dennis come with. We grabbed him form work and off we went. I know we used it before his birthday! We went to the indoor exhibits as it was freezing outside! I mean like WOW is it Jan again!
Dennis fell in love with this puffer fish. He went looking at it from all angles. No one knows why but we watch it for a long time! It never puffed up. But it was cool to see.

The reef was awesome to see. We watched it a long time. The kids liked the sharks. Sad but true Stephen and Matthew knew more of the names of the fish then the lady working helping us see fish. Got to love little boys who love fish!

this was the strangest bird! It looked like he had 4 beaks! But it was just one. He did not like his photo taken. So he moved all the time.

Loved these! I wish I could have got closer and taken pictures from a different angle. The colors were just neat on them. Some were a light pink some darker.

Matthew's favorite animal. The kimono dragon. He had to tell us of how he will eat lots of things even bigger then it and we had to stay out of the cage. No worries buddy Mom has no intention of getting in there with most of the animals at this zoo!

I swear this is my kids! No not these they just laid around. But they were just beautiful!

Tile work! These each were tiny tiles and made into this. Loved it!

Oh here are my kids! Running all over the place to see this or that! But we had a really good time! We plan to go again when it is nice outside. And they have a few exhibits we plan to see this summer.

A new favorite

A new favorite of the kids is a salad! yea go figure! We have been making my big stainless steel bowl up 2-3 times a week! The kids take it for cold lunches to school. And eat it for snack! I just cut up romaine lettuce, spring onions, green bell pepper, carrots, and cucumbers. Toss it together and there you have it. And the kids put a fat free Italian dressing on it! The only one who hates it is Mini but really does that surprise you? And Matthew wishes the onions would go away. He says they are way to spicy but other then that the bowl disappears all the time.
Makes a Mom proud if she thought it was something she did to get them to like it but not so much.; I love this salad to but I just got lucky to find something the kids will go for anytime of day.

Cub Scout Cake Auction

so yes it was that time of year again. And of course I thought I would make some great thing for Stephen to bring for cake auction to be judged and then sold. I saw these cake balls and cake lollipops on Pioneer Woman's site and loved the thought of them. I mean really how neat are they and they can be used for so many different designs!

Yea so I did not really think how much work these little things would be! I mean to make a few dozen lollipops and 4 dozen mini cupcakes took one whole night and 1 whole day. And then it was time to decorate for the nights auction!

But it came out great and Stephen in his last year of cake auction took most beautiful and grand champion at the cake auction. He has 2 ribbons for this one. The other cake I made was the mini muffins dipped in chocolate. But I just set them on a platter and served it up. I just ran out of time.
But these things are very good. And I love to eat them so I am glad to get them out of my house. Everyone who has tried them have liked them. But I am glad cake auctions are behind us for a full year. really close to 2 years before Matthew comes up to cub scouts.

Behind

I have so many topics to cover on here. I have pictures to download. Lots of them. Enough that I may not put them all up. I may just put up my favorites. But Matthew and I plan to hang out here at home today. Mini will hang with us to. It is raining frozen little balls of ice rightn ow. It is cold and yucky and it is a day for coffee and and sewing and watchign tv with the kids. And making cake balls for the bake sale at school.

I will be back later to update.

But I swear he looks just like chewbacca in this photo!

Still Smiling

Wednesday night I bowled a bad game an ok game and a good game. We lost all 7 points. We had some close games but we lost none the less. We had a good time playing though. We were celebrating Nell's birthday. So though we dropped out of 1st we were happy happy girls.
