potty training day two

ok the day did not start off all thgat great but I must say she has done really well this afternoon into tonight. We will see how tonight goes. She is up getting ready for bed as we speak.

But today, today there were not one but two poopy undies. though she was good and did not sit int hem. She pooped told me she pooped and brought me a new pair of undies right away and went straight to the bathroom to be cleaned up. I am glad she does not like being in a poopy underwear!

So not too many messes today. Which was good considering we had to bake 6 round cakes to start decorating for the boy scout cake auction tomorrow. That too did not go great. I got them made I got them frosted. Lisa and Austin and Logan came to help. Austin took a chunk out of one cake. Then stuck his finger in the cake a few more times. Poor Lisa was all worked up. If she only knew what was to come next.

Tonight I was up cleaning the boys room and making a clean bed for Mini tonight and Dennis made a bad sound. And told Mini to keep her hands up. I thought oh great she pooped again but made a mess. No not so much so. She had licked all the frosting off the whole top layer. Had dug into 2 other layers and ran her finger through the other layers. So guess what I get to do tomorrow? Yep make more cakes. And decorate them all before boyscouts at 6:30pm.

I do have a lovely picture of the cake after she licked fo ryou all but tomorrow mornging it will be as I am tired and I need to sleep.

Oh and Tia my friend you hear so much of became an Aunt twice today. The babies are early and weigh in at 2lbs 3 oz and 3lbs and a few oz. I know at the moment they are doing well but if you could pray for her brother and his wife and their 2 boys I know they would love that. As they have a long 8-10 week stay that they are looking at for the boys.

good morning

good morning all! I am alive but oh so tired. Mini did not take sleeping in Matthew's room well at all. So after 2 wet undies before going to sleep she finally went off to sleep at 11pm. She was up by 1 wet. I thought oh this is going to be bad, should have started on a fri! But after cleaning her and the bed up I got her all tucked back in and she woke up at 3am to pee and stayed dry and peed on the potty for me then. And went back to bed. She was up at 7 this morning and has been dry so far.

She gets skittles when she goes pee. Her and Matthew are big fans of them. Though she does not ask for them everytime so I do not know that it is a big draw to stay dry but she gets no skittles except when she stays dry and she knows it. So I am hoping today will go better and not too many messes to clean up.

I have to bake 6 or so round cakes as I am making a cat in the hat cake for the cake auction tomorrow. It is an annual fundraiser for the boyscouts. I wish the boys had told me before last night so I could have planned for a better cake but oh well. I doubt he will win an award for this cake but there has to be a first year he does not win one. I will get pictures as always.

am I nuts?

ok I wish I was typing that day 1 was over and I am all settled in ready to go to bed. That is not what I am typing. After peeing on the couch she was doing really good. Then at supper tonight she toots and then annouces she pooped in her undies! Ok talk about dinnner conversation. Not what I wanted to hear. So Dennis runs her to the potty but it is way too late. While I go downstairs to rinse out her undies she decides to get off the potty and makes just a mess getting off as there is now poop everywhere!

Now at bedtime we told her she has to sleep in Matthew's bed as it has plastic so no nest sleeping until she gets the potty training done. So say this has not gone over well is the under statment of the year. Stephen is now sleeping in with Samantha as the screams kept him up. Matthew is sleeping soundly in my bed. And Mini is downstairs again after peeing in her third set of undies for the afternoon. But hey she did not pee on the bed. That is the plus in this. So I am off to try once again to get her to bed in a bed that has plastic on it. Wish me luck and please remind as to why i really think she should potty train at all. I really do like diapers. All that is but those poopy diapers. But if I have to rinse it out of undies why not just change it. I know she will be potty trained by time college comes so why the rush here? Really!

Ok day one down only 6 more to go with hell week and I know it will be better then.

Good night and please remind me to tell you of Dennis' new toy that now take up my livingroom soon.

potty training day one

So today Mini and I packed up her diapers in a box and she said goodbye to them. As tomorrow they go to Baby Logan. She is very proud so this afternoon has started our first day of full on potty training. I am hopeful that by the end of the week I will be able to say we are done with diapers. Well I know we are done it is just a matter of how many messes we will be cleaning up yet. She peed on the couch in the basement but has peed on the potty to. I will give you a recap on the day later as to how it went. The first three days have always been bad for my kids but then they seem to get it. What better way to spend my time now that I am done working then to get rid of diapers! On one hand I can not wait to be doen with potty training but it is such a bittersweet milestone as she is growing so fast!

guess

take a guess as to what country I am busy sewing today!

bonk on her head

Mini had her blanket on her head and her thumb in her mouth and she tripped on a toy and down she went into the corner of the wall deviding the kitchen and the toy room. Poor thing. Of course did she learn anything? No she put her blanket back over her head and inserted her thumb and walked over to me to cuddle to feel better.

cute kids

That is what I have. Mini and Matthew and I went out on Thur to bring Stephen and Samantha to school. We ran errands that we had put off for a week since Stephen was home. Mini let me do her hair and she was cute as could be and Matthew found one of Dennis' old hats and wore it all day long say how nice of a hat it was. Then we went to lunch and Mini got a crown so of course she wore it since Matthew had a hat on his head she needed a hat to. Cute they are and way to smart for their own good!

towels

I made the 5 towels in the first picture for Samantha's teacher. She likes to have holiday towels for each holiday. I had made the Christmas ones for her earlier and now these. The Easter one is for Isy as we will spend Easter Sunday at her house.

Mini and Stephen

Stephen was headed back to school yesterday and he and Mini had to say goodbye after a week of togetherness. But as you can see he is doing much better! I stopped by the school at noon yesterday gave him some meds and he was having fun. He is sad as he can not go to gym yet this week or sing in music, but other then that the day went great!

Mini golfing

Tia, Kent Dennis and I went to the new mini golf place at the Mall of America and Mini golfed. talk about fun! We laughed so hard our sides hurt.

Are they really mine?

I know more pictures of the 2 younger ones. I swear the 2 older ones are here and alive they just do not hang out with me all the time. These are from the week before surgery for Stephen just catching up on photos. I do have new ones and they even include some of Stephen from this week. I will upload them off the camera tomorrow.

Mini and her many faces just crack me up and I love to post them so I have them to look back on. And Dennis and Matthew in matching sweatshirts was just cute as all get out. Do not ask why Matthew insisted on keeping his mouth open but after 4 trys I gaveup and left it as it was.

Holding Logan

Mini got to hold Logan on Tuesday last week. Oh her and matthew loved on the baby. Matthew asked when we could have more babies for him to play with. I told him no more. Which he then told his teacher that his Mommy said no more babies and that if he wanted one he best be talking to God as that is the only way it is happening. Well his teacher was laughing so hard when I picked him up I knew he had said something yep word for word my son told her all about no more babies!!

But he is a very good big brother most of the time though he does so love to torment Mini Rose and then she does so love to clock him up side the head for good measure. Got to love them!

Dennis and I

Ok I said I would blog about it so here it goes. Dennis is giving 2 weeks today and will start at Kroll Ontrack on the 24th of March. What started as a promise to a friend to send in a resume has ended up being a new job.

But Dennis is excited about it and it is doing what he loves and will be more like his position at Best Buy. It is in Eden Prairie so a bit closer to home once more. His title will be some long thing. But he is excited and therefore we are excited for him. I know nothing of the company everyone else seems to but not me.

So a new adventure begins and I told him as long as this company is good and he is happy and we can settle into this one I am happy to.

I am going to start working less as Mini does not seem to be adjusting well to her Mommy not being here more. It breaks my heart that she crys such big crocidile tears each time I leave for work. i tok Sat off last weekend and I stayed home and she loves that. So I am planning on asking to go down to 2 days a week. Time for me but my kids will get me more often. My husband will have me home to and it will give us as a family lots more time together. So as much as I love to work I need to look at what the kids need and in a few short years they will all be in school and I can look at what the family needs are then and maybe then work more. Until then I need my kids as much as they need me.

You know when you think of life when you are 18 it is nothing like this. I always wanted to be that career girl. In a big city. With no husband no kids. Then I met Dennis and I knew I would not want to do anything without him. Then we decided to have our kids. And you know nothing in the world seemed more important then that little boy we had. Then we added one more and moved to Minnesota. but you know by then I had changed. I thought working more would bring that me back. It does not. I love having the adult time do not get me wrong but I miss my kids. I miss my husband and I miss the time together. I will never be a girl driven to succeed in the world. if my kids grow up happy and do not hate me forever and come home for coffee once in awhile I will be a happy Mom. I do hope they look past my inability to have more patience. I try I really do but I suck at it.

So this got long and if you made it through good for you. I plan on taking the kids in for prfessional photos as son as Sir Stephen gets to feeling better. To say today is not the day is an understatment. Last night I had him come up to our room in tears as his throat hurt. But soon pictures so I can update the ones on the wall and update those you all have.

Miss Samantha

I want to start this post out with everything came out great for her! She is doing good and her new glasses will be here in 10 to 12 days.

Now the whole story. She had failed both of her eye exams at school. Which after only 6 months of wearing new glasses raised a flag. So we took her in and the eye doctor thought she was making up that she could not see. As he said the machine gave them a new perscription but when he put that on her she could not see at all yet.

then he dialated her eyes and he said the dreaded OH... he said that with her focus all knocked out from that they came up with a totally different perscription. That she needed therapy on her eyes. HUH?

I took her to the ped the next morning and she sent us to the specialist since the eye doctor couldnot get her close to 20/20 vision. And they happen to get her in ths morning and she is good! The glasses she is wearing now are way to strong not too weak for her and by trying to make the perscription stronger it made her focusing isse worse. So the lady today got her right eye to 20/20 and her left which is near and far sighted and has asigmatism in it to 20/25. She said if it gets worse we will patch they other eye but for now we will only have to watch it!

Way better then what the eye doctor had me scared of. Anyway I think I owe God more then one apology after this week. And some extra thanks too. So Nancy thank you for the prayers and I will be back to blogging away now as I do not have to stress about anything now.

Stephen is good and feeling better well he is on vicodin and is funny as all get out but he is eating soup up a storm and he is feeling much better between meds. Samantha is good Matthew is good and so is our Mini.

I need to blog about Dennis and a new job but that will have to come at a different hour and i need to get ready for work. Which is driving me nuts to. I am not made to work so many nights. I plan on getting down to 3 nights a week here soon.

eyes

Have you ever sat and just looked into their eyes? I mean just watched as a new plan comes into thier head and their eyes light up with a new plan. Most likely one I wil say no to but they have to try anyway.

I know I am biased but my kids eyes have got to be some of the most beautiful in the whole world. Each one tells me so much of themselves in their eyes. I forget how innocent those eyes are. i wish I could go back to the carefree days of no worries. No stress. No fear. As a Mom I would give a great many things to garentee the saftey of my children that they out live me by a long time. that no harm comes to them and that the only hurts they have are ones I could kiss away and fix with papa's salve and a bandaide.

How I got such great kids I do not know but they are mine none the less and my 2 brown eyed beauties and my 2 blue eyed bonnies are all upstairs resting watching tv and tryig to make Stephen feel better.

Nancy the appt I told you about is tomorrow morning in the am I will call tomorrow evening on my way to work.

Stephen is home

I want to thank everyone who has helped make today go smooth for Stephen. Maria and Kristie came down to help watch Mini and Matthew. they ended up with Samantha to as she threw up once more last night so she is home from school today.

The first photo is right after he came back from recovery. And his popsicle and then him a few minutes ago upstairs. He will be hanging out in the recliner a lot till he gets to feeling better but even now he is working hard on a smile for me!

He is feeling ok really. He is on pain meds every 4 hours and he did eat some soup for me for lunch at 3pm. They told us to expect him to throw up once so we are all just waiting for that one.

I took the night off so we will hang out here at home and do nothing. He played some games earlier and now is reating watching tv. Since he is living in a chair not too much is happening right now.

I will let you know how he is doing later once the dugs they gave him wear off and he is on just the drugs they sent home with him.

more shirts

I made the one shirt for Mom for her birthday and one fo a bartender at work who asked me to make it for her. The tiger is for my friend Lisa.

They all came out really well and I must admit I am making plans for the lizard to make a new appearence soon!

sewing again

I finished a whole bunch of sewing this last 2 weeks. I have completed these 2 sweatshirts. The one is Dennis' and one is mine. Though 2 people have tried to take it already. I also did work shirts for Tia's husband and I did a US Army one that I forgot to get a picture of before I delivered it. I also did 2 hockey ones that I will need to get photos of. I have been busy doing some jobs for pthers and it is fun but I have some projects to do for me that I hope to do tomorrow or Monday.

I did 5 dance outfits yesterday and today and I have more work shirts to do when the shirts come in. I have 2 sweatshirts to do that are sitting here at the house. And I made another shirt that Matched Shorty's but for Kristie. So I am busy sewing when I am not working or hanging out with the kids. But enjoying every minute of it. Well most minutes anyway!

A little girl

Somedays I swear Mini has the biggest heart Ihave seen in a little girl. Other days I think she thinks up ways to make life hard. The other day she took the cover to the lincoln logs and hit Matthew right between the eyes. Not one but two black eyes later and a black and blue nose I am pretty sure it did not break. Why you may ask did she hit him? They were play. Matthew agrees and he told her to hithim soft but she hit as hard as she could. (mind you why you would tell her she could hit you in the first place is beyond this Mommy's ability to reason)

Anyway the eyes are almost not black anymore and his nose will only have a small scar. He is no worse for wear and they are playing all quiet now so no hard feelings but man I would hate to run into her in a fight later, unless she learns to stop hitting!
