cool shots

Notice Mini and Matthew on the ground trying to see if they are bigger then the shark!

The kids love the puffer fish. Why no one knows it never puffs up. Just swims around. But they look for it and follow it each time we go to the zoo.

New exhibit

I swear we could toss them all in a cage and watch them and I would not be bored. Dennis included because he gets them all wound up for mad or happy faster then anyone I know.

Oh so sad

The kids played with the sting ray and sharks. The older ones got to pet them. Mini was so sad from leaving the dolphins it took her a bit to get in there. An dby then no one would come up to get pet.

Petting the sharks and stingray. Got to love this! Notice my hands are far far away?

When we left the dolphin area Mini was so sad. she loved watching them swim around. We will go watch them someday but the other kids wanted to go look!

Dad time makes so very many things better in her world though it was not long before she was running!

visting new animals at the zoo

After the monorail we were walking by and the room with the dolphins was open. They no longer do shows as one of the Mommies lost a baby this spring but they let you just watch them.

We got to see so many different animals in the monrails. I would do it again but I must admit by the end Mini was all done being up in the air. She wanted back on non-moving ground.

The monorail

As member's of the MN Zoo we get the monorail tickets for half off. So we wanted to take the kids one day. And since last Sat dawned way to cold for my taste we decided that today was the day. We could see all the outside animals without freezing our butts off.

Here the kids were reading books to themselves waiting for the train.

Stephen and Samantha were reading a book to.

I wanted to see eyes though and made them look up. What a mean mom but I know you do not see many shots of those two any more and wanted to show you how big they are sitting!

Dennis and I were tired if you can not tell! But the kids loved the chance to go to the zoo again.
The zoo map hold all this power that Dennis and I do not understand at all! I mean really we have seen it 3 times this season already how good can the map be. It is awesome I tell you!
Riding the Monorail was a neat experience and we got to see a lot of the animals. Ones we would not have seen on the ground as they were way in the back. And it is not cold in the train car!

Matthew wants you to know

That his throat and mouth feel good now and they no longer hurt! And he is making up for lost time with eating! And though things are still sounding loud to him he is getting used to hearing things he did not before.
Also, thank you to everyone who called and checked in on him. And said prayers that he would get to feeling better soon. I am so glad he is better and that he got it done as it has made a world of difference for hin for sleeping and hearing. I am sure it wil lmake speech class go much better now to.

How does he fit in there?

I walked into the toy room to find Matthew curled up in one of the toy boxes! Yes that we store toys in.

How at almost 6 does the child still fit in that box?! No one knows. Andit can not be comfortable. But he was just a playing away in there.

Cold Twitch

Twitch is all into wrapping himself in a warm quilt. It is sitting on my kitchen floor right now as I need to go find a laundromat to wash it. A little girl no names to be mentioned seems to have had an accident on it. And so did my puppy when we accidently tried to poison him by letting him out on the lawn after it was fertilized.

Anyway Twitch is feeling better but he goes and wraps in thw quilt anytime I am in the kitchen. I wonder how cold the thing can be with the house in the high 70's!

Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to everyone out there! Mom, this year has been so bitter sweet with you. You raised me to be the woman I am today. You taught me to stand up for me. You taught me to sew. You taught me to cook. You taught me all those tricks to get stains out of laundry. You taught me to can. You taught me so very many things. And to watch you go through surgery and then again. To watch you in pain kills. I hate knowing you have a rough year ahead of you. I hate knowing there is nothing I can do to make htis better. But know Mom I love you.

To Bonnie and Susan I want to thank you for making Dennis into the man he is today. For teaching his love. For raising him to know love. He is a wonderful husband and Father because of you.

And as a Mom this has been a hard year for me. But I am so glad i get to have those hard years and know they are mine. To know that I get to keep trying to make life better for the little people who are mine. Who take days to write me a poem, even though I am sure 5th graders do not want to write a poem to their Mother. Who needed the reassurance that I liked it even with a misspelling. And was all worried when it made me cry. The little people who made me a pin at school. The little people who made sure I had hugs and kisses today. I love them little people. I am so glad they are mine!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms!

scrapbooking at home

So after I finished Lisa's book Wednesday night. I drug out all my stuff to do that I thought I would cut the pictures I had printed out for Matthew. And then the next day Thur since it was all over the kitchen table I worked on pages for him. And I got 34 pages done. And today I worked atr it again. In the hopes that someday we can eat at our kitchen table again without having all this stuff on it.

Today I did another 30 or so pages. But I have Matthew completed until he is 14 months old. But now I know why I do not do this at home. It is a mess and to drag it all out to power scrap is hard. Everyone wants me. And of these 60+ pages now tonight I need to journal it all. And organize the pages so I can put them in his book. And then the next time it is his turn for me to work on his book I will starta gresh book for him. As that is all a book will hold. But he is the fartherest I am on a child so yeah!!!

Dennis is working late so I hope to get all that journaling done tonight. But I just woke up from laying with Mini so w ewill see how late I stay up. Twitch had a vet appt today as he has an ear infection. I swear if you are apart of this family you get ear isssues this year. SO welcome to the family Twitch!

scrapbooking

Lisa, Mom and I went to the casino last Friday evening. I was on a misson to start and finish a scrapbook. Lisa's Stephanie will graduate in June. I wanted her to have a scrapbook from her life. We worked both night and got most of it finished. I got the rest done Wednesday night. So Lisa took the finished book home with her. In the end it has about 60 pages to it.
My friend Deana came up to work on her book too. She was making one for her daughter. Though her daughters have books and books already. She got a whole book done too. You got to love power scrapbooking.

Making Salsa

We made up a batch of salsa the other day. Dennis says it is my best batch yet. The neighbors seem to agree. I thought it was good but I could not say if it was best or not.

But considering we had been out since Christmas. It is nice to have fresh canned salsa back in the house.

A delayed cake

I feel so very bad as really this has been such a bad birthday for Samantha. Not only has she yet to have dinner out for her day. She didnot get friends over for her day.
And then on Sat we had Grandma and Grandpa over but Matthew was not doing good so they left and she did not get cake. She did not get it till Monday! And the cake she got was not what I normally do. But it was her normal for this year I guess I and hope I can make it up to her next year.

What in the world?

Yea so the toliet box is still out and still in use! Mini tipped herself over in the box and was stuck! Yea like the opening was down below and there she sat! Of course Dennis and I sat there and laughed at her and took a picture and then let her out. But yes that is her peeking at me from the box. Wanting out!

Dog races?

OK don't ask really. You most likely do not want to know.
But being who I am I will tell you anyway! Dennis was racing our puppy down the steps. Yes they did it more then once. the first time was a dead heat. Twitch almost beat hime but then he got tired I guess and Dennis well he still weighes the same so flew down the steps.
But Twitch would do it over and over as long as you raced him. I think it is a rigged race though. Or at least heavily weighted!

Hanging out at home

Matthew hung out at home and watched Stephen play games. That is all he wanted was to be by Stephen and watch Stephen play games.

Sometimes he tried to play along but little boys on pain meds are not great at playing a game. But for the first time since April 24th well really 9 months Matthew slept all night long. I mean like from 9pm till 8am! Yea you know I am a happy Mommy today! Mini slept all night. Matthew slept all night and guess who else slept all night? Yes me!

Matthew gets out his tonsils

We arrived at the hospital at 7:15am and Matthew was oh so happy. He thought this was a good time.

A guy came in to see if he needed happy meds or if he would go with him. Matthew was all set to go. He had to wait for a bit then.

He loved this guy and he lovd all the nurses, They all thought he was on the happy meds till Dr Mount said no this is just matthew. Then they laughed harder.

Daddy and Matthew played while we waited for Matthew to go back. He giggled and he laughed and he played. To know now the difference and that it would be 10 days before I saw him this happy again makes me so sad.

After a long morning of being so very happy coming out of surgery was not what he thought. He was not happy. And even on Mom's lap he was so very very sad. I am so glad this day is behind us as holding a child who is in pain and you can not fix it is not nice.
